I started making this coffee cake many years ago when my children were young and now I make it for my grandchildren. Christmas morning, very early I would prepare it,very easy, and most times before it came out of the oven my girls were up checking on Santa’s goodies and eating this wonderful confection. Now my daughters prepare it for their children and the tradition lives on. Thank you.

My son and I made this every year starting when he was 8 years old. On Christmas Eve we gave all of my siblings one to take home to have on Christmas morning. John is now 28 and we usually are lucky enough to have all three boys and their families home on Christmas morning for Coffee Cake, eggs and fresh oj (we live in So. California). It is one of many recipes and traditions I have adopted from your wonderful collection. Thank you.

I’ve made this in the past, everybody loves it! Just got the idea to make it for my gift to the Bunko exchange, wrapped up in a tea towel – I think it would be the right size, right color, don’t have to exchange it & doesn’t require storage!! Thanks for reminding me! xoxox

My roommate had your book containing this recipe 20 years ago and I have been making it ever since. It IS Christmas morning to me and to my whole family! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

For over 20 years this coffee cake has been a holiday tradition. The family LOVES it. Now I make two, one for breakfast, the other for Christmas tea. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Note: Christmas breakfast also includes your ‘Fresh Fruit Salad’ – simply delicious!!

I am already thinking of Christmas gifts (edible, of course!). Your coffeecake will be perfect for gift giving!

Now if you all would come up with ways to decorate my 8×8 disposable tins that I’ll be putting the cake in, I will be absolutely happy.

Does this recipe freeze well? I will be making about 20 of these little gems & am wondering if I can get a jump start on things.

Thanks so much for the recipe, can’t wait for cranberries to start showing up at the grocery.

I love that you’re getting ready for Christmas! My kind of girl. I do think they would freeze well, although I’ve never done it myself. I would get a wide festive ribbon, and with dots of glue, I’d tie it around your 8 x 8 tin, with maybe a little tag. You could also wrap the tin in a holiday dishtowel, bunching it at the top, and tie a ribbon around it.
